North Shields
North Shields is situated about 8 miles outside Newcastle city centre. With excellent transport links and several business parks, the town is bounded to the north by the seaside town of Whitley Bay and to the south by the River Tyne. The beautiful historic town of Tynemouth is less than 2 miles away with its wonderful restaurants and aquarium.
As well as the revitalised Fish Quay with its tempting restaurants, North Shields boasts Newcastle Quays which has a shopping outlet, bowling alley, soccer dome and marina. The historic roman fort of Segedunum is less than 5 miles away in Wallsend. North Shields also has an international ferry terminal and there is a ferry link between North Shields and South Shields which is on the opposite bank of the Tyne.
